Nourish Ecovillage, South Africa

Started in 2011, Nourish was created as a platform linking conservation with community issues and ideals, finding integrated sustainable solutions to issues plaguing conservation such as poverty, low levels of education, food insecurity, gender-based violence and unemployment.

Through Wildflower Project Ubuntu girls club is being developed with Xcelsa health support and partnership, focussing on girls’ wellbeing and mental health, a programme that is needed, and ultimately make a long-term impact.

The club believes every girl has the right to develop confidence, have positive self-esteem and feel safe in her village. Through this project we create a space where girls are supported through a series of programs around sexual health, menstruation, confidence, and self-defence.

Xcelsa health raises funds via Christmas charity event for projects with Nourish Ecovillage and is raising funds this year for Ubuntu Girls club. We also accept donations in form of money and learning equipment/tools.

Xcelsa health sponsored a quad biking trip with pizzas this year which the girls thoroughly enjoyed.

Connected Planted Foundation

Connected Planet Foundation is a charity set up with the overarching goal of connecting people to our beautiful planet. We believe that everyone has the right to experience the wonders of the natural world, and we believe everyone should be given the tools to help protect it.

Connected Planet Foundation is a UK-based charity that works both here in the UK, as well as alongside our partners in Africa, to provide opportunities for people to connect to nature, whether that be through litter picking, immersive conservation field trips or just spending time surrounded by nature’s beauty.

At Xcelsa Health we are always looking at opportunities to work with the connected planet foundation team on activities to rise awareness about preserve environment.
